William Moore

William "Bill" Moore, Unicoi, born May 7, 1934 passed away peacefully Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his home, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a native of Limestone Cove where he had lived most of his life. Mr. Moore was a son of the late Walter A. Moore Sr. and Etta Davis Moore Hamm. Mr. Moore retired from Hoover Ball Bearing in Erwin. He was veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Moore was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Fields Houston Hamm and a brother, Walter A. Moore Jr. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Edith Marie Campbell Moore; three sons, Richard Moore and wife, Sharon of Elon, NC, Michael Moore and wife, Lynn of Unicoi and Jeffrey Moore and wife, Adrienne of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Jason Moore and wife, Jenny, Christopher Moore and wife, Terah, Sarah Moore and Jennifer Whitfield; two great-grandsons, Cameron and Ryan Moore; two great-granddaughters, Amy and Grace Whitfield; a brother, Clyde Moore and wife, Eva of Hampton; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of the James H. Quillen V.A. Hospital and the Mountain States Hospice Group for the special care they provided.
