Wilburn Lee "Webb" Vance

Wilburn “Webb” Vance, 57, of Jonesborough passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Loranza and Nancy Davis Vance. Mr. Vance had worked in the Saw Milling business for many years and had worked for Unaka Forestry for over 20 years. He was a member of the Cherokee Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Michael Vance and a sister, Pauline Vance Gourley.Survivors include two brothers, Gaither Vance and wife, Elsie of Limestone and Roger Vance and wife, Gracie of Jonesborough; three sisters, Wanda Buchanan of Greeneville, Brenda Blevins and husband, Danny of Erwin and Barbara Peters and husband, Tim of Chuckey; his pet dog, Tiny; special nieces, Robin Gray and Crystal Doan; great-niece, Hunter Gray; a special friend, Cleo Boyd of Jonesborough; also several other nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Mr. Vance will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the Banner Cemetery, located off Martins Creek in Erwin. Pallbearers will be Roger, Jason and Greg Vance, Junior Hughes, Chris Gray, Charles Doan and Dwayne Peters.
