Wanda Kay Tate

Wanda Kay Tate, 51, 455 Floyd Hollow Road, Piney Flats passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 in the Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville. She was a native of Johnson City and a daughter of Mrs. Geraldine Edwards Floyd of Piney Flats and the late Billy Joe Floyd Sr... In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tabitha Dawn Tate; survivors in addition to her mother includes her fiance, Daniel Thomas Penisten of Asheville; three daughters, Jennifer Lynn Tate of Gray, Heather Nicole Choice and her husband, Charles, Johnson City and Riva Danielle Tate of Elizabethton; three sisters, Debbie Hilton, Piney Flats, Pamela Smith and her husband Ray Alan of Johnson City and Patricia Hyatt of Bristol; a brother, Billy Joe Floyd Jr. of Piney Flats; ten grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Graveside services for Ms. Tate will be conducted at 2:30 PM Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the Emmert Cemetery, Johnson City with Minister Larry Barr officiating. Pallbearers will be Daniel Penisten, Charles Choice, Billy Joe Floyd Jr., Brandon Ford, Michael Penisten and Ray Alan Smith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery for the service.
