Wanda L. (Jones) Vaughn

Wanda L. Vaughn, 80, Johnson City graduated to Heaven Monday, December 31, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifetime native of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Robert Riley Jones and Arzola Reagan Jones. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Johnson City Church of God. She had worked for K-Mart 36 years and enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and cross stiching, gospel music and watching cooking shows. Everyone who met her loved her and she treated them all as family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Vaughn in 1994; a grandson, Aaron Spence; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Jones. Survivors include her son, Jimmy Allen Vaughn of Johnson City; her daughter, Sharon Spence and husband, Allen of Meadowview, VA; four brothers, Bob Jones and wife, Janice, Rev. Harold Jones, Carroll Jones all of Johnson City and Mike Jones and wife, Beth of Kingsport; grandchildren, Julie and Justin Vaughn; a great-granddaughter, Addie Vaughn; also several nieces and nephews and her Church family whom she loved very much. Funeral services for Mrs. Vaughn will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Johnson City Church of God, 1908 Indian Ridge Road, with Pastor Bryant Collins officiating. The Pyatte family will provide special music. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Arnold, Rocky Collins, Charles Bradley, Gordon Bulla, Kyle Earp and Richard Tucker.
