Virginia Kay Nolen, Jonesborough, TN went gracefully home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 after a lengthy, valiant battle with cancer. Ms. Nolen was born in 1966 in Johnson City, TN and grew up in a large, loving family where she was the youngest of 12 children. She was preceded in death by both parents, R.B. and Norma Boreing Nolen; 4 sisters - Rose Marie Nolen, Jane Delbridge, Donna Saylor, and Cathy Collins; 1 brother - Raymond Nolen. Survivors include one daughter, Paige Amna Madison Nolen; 3 sisters - Annette and Mike Caulkins, Roulette, PA; Doris and Bo Wilcox, Jonesborough, TN; Wanda Nolen, Johnson City, TN; 3 brothers - Teddy and Donna Nolen, Florala, AL; Bruce and Neva Nolen, Bean Station, TN; Johnny and Wilma Nolen, Jonesborough, TN, brother-in-law, Jerry Saylor, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Her special friends: Kathy, Pat, Jennifer, & Marci whom, from the beginning, helped care for Virginia and remained loyal and true. Ms. Nolen had a servant's heart and was a lifelong, active member of Lone Oak Christian Church in Johnson City, TN. She received so much love from her church family. She was previously employed by Appalachian Christian Village, who showed overwhelming love and support when she began her battle with cancer. A special thanks to all the medical professionals that cared for Virginia during her long illness. Dr. Krishnan and Dr. Kim Pratt and all the associates at Regional Cancer Center. Also, Dr. Kashem and Leann and associates at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tn., and Doctors and Associate at Duke in Durham, NC. Nurses and staff at Franklin Woods, and JCMC. Services will be conducted at Lone Oak Christian Church on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Receiving of friends will be from 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. with services immediately following to be conducted by Pastor Tad Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers: Ronnie Hale, Bo Wilcox, Mike Caulkins, Jim Saylor, Jerry Saylor, Jerry Ray Caulkins, Adam Nolen, Royce Hettish, Kobe Wilcox, Danny Baldwin.
