Virgie Mae Sparks, 71, 2104 Berea Drive, Apt.1, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 23, 2015 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late Ed and Mildred Emige Dulaney. She was a member of Berea Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Sparks had worked for many years as a caregiver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Hartsell Sparks; a daughter, Kathy Price and husband, Mike of Elizabethton; four sons, Gary Hopson and wife, Melissa, Adrien "Hoss" Hopson and wife, Jennifer all of Elizabethton, Tony Sparks and wife, Nikki and Matthew Sparks and wife, Erin all of Jonesborough; a brother, Smoky Dulaney and wife, Judy of Johnson City; two sisters, Brenda Tester and Mary Gobble of Johnson City; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, Nikki Davis of Johnson City; her extended family, Rikki Price, Tayler Nidifer and Michaela Bier; her dear special friend, Patsy Clark; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Sparks will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Berea Freewill Baptist Church, Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City with Pastor Jerry Stout, Rev. Charlie Church and Rev. Mike Dickenson officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Fairview Cemetery, Highway 81, Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be Michael and Dakota Price, Gary Hopson, Don Ramsey, Tony and Matthew Sparks. Honorary pallbearer will be Dexter Price. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. The family would like to thank her entire church family at Berea Freewill Baptist Church and to the Upper Gap Creek Christian Church Adult Sunday School Class for their love and support. Visitation: Friday February 27 2015 - 5:00 to 7:00 PM Services: Friday 7:00 PM Interment: Saturday 11:00 AM Fairview Cemetery Jonesborough TNN
