Vedia Cloral Maupin

Vedia Cloral Crain Maupin, 74, 419 W. Highland Road, Johnson City went peacefully to sleep at her residence and woke up to see her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 22, 2013. She was born in Bryson City, NC on June 5, 1938 to the late Charlie and Ica Anthony Crain. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Della Faye Maupin. Mrs. Maupin retired after 27 years from Burlington Industries. She was a member of The Way of The Cross Baptist Church in Johnson City. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 57 years, Rev. Jack Maupin; her children, Calvin "Noel" and wife, Pat, Kenneth and wife, Brandi and Joy Burrell and husband, Chuck all of Johnson City, Phillip and wife, Sylvia of Rock Hill, SC, Jackie and wife, Jennifer of Asheville, NC; a brother, Therin Crain of Houston, TX. Mrs. Maupin was MaMaw to nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City and other times at the home. The graveside funeral service to honor her will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday at Washington County Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jack Dykes officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Vedia Cloral Crain Maupin.
