Tyrone Wayne Vanover, Jonesborough, went home to be with Jesus, Monday, August 12, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Wayne was born September 7, 1942 in Johnson City to the late William Joseph Vanover and Pansy McFall Vanover. He was a loving, forgiving person who never met a stranger, a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Wayne worked at C&T Volkswagon Subaru for many years. He loved playing and singing bluegrass gospel music and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Wanda Sue Vest Vanover; brothers, Raymond, James and Lloyd Vanover; sisters, Mary Holmes and Phyllis Nelson; and his beloved dog, Puddles.He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Houk of Jonesborough; granddaughter, Megan Franklin (Aaron); great-granddaughter, Zelda Franklin; sisters, Betty Roberson, Judy Taylor and Viola Barnett (Gary); several nieces and nephews and many friends.The family would like to thank Dr. Merrick and his nurses for their care and compassion, Maggie at Lincare, who supplied the equipment that kept him as comfortable as possible, and all the nurses and PT’s who kept him motivated and moving, Ken Vest who always came to help when called, no matter how unpleasant the task, Kelvin and Becky Lester who always made Dad feel welcome and loved and did whatever they could to help, and to the many people who faithfully prayed for him. May God bless you all!A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Dr. Ken Gaskin officiating. Music will be provided by friends. Uncle Wayne... even though it had been a while sine I seen you I can still here the guitar playing and all of us singing along. We love you and you’ll definitely be missed. Give mom and dad a big hug and a kiss on the cheek for me.. tell them how much they are loved and missed. I’m sure they will be happy to see you. All of you Rest In Paradise until we meet again ??????
