Tony E. Humphrey

Tony E. Humphrey, 56, of Piney Flats went home to be with the Lord, Monday, April 23, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Piney Flats. Tony worked for Tennessee Valley Church Furniture and attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to cook, play music and hang out with his friends.Survivors include his father, James E. Humphrey of Piney Flats and his mother, Mary Thompson Humphrey of Johnson City; sisters, Donna Bergendahl and husband, Mike of Johnson City, Brenda Harrison of Johnson City, Kimberly Alexander of Piney Flats, Revonda Furr and husband, Stacey and Jamie Williams all of Johnson City; a brother, Haskell (Billy) Humphrey of Piney Flats; several nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle also survive; special aunt, Ruthie Thompson; special friends, Jeff and Lavada Bell and David (Bugs) Ward Jr..Funeral services for Tony will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Paul Crowe and Rev. Howard Ray officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bell, Harley Miller, David (Bugs) Ward Jr., Scotty Green, Douglas Morrell, Avery Humphrey, Dean Ray and Stacey Furr.
