Thelma Forest Wallace Bell, 93, 915 Lower Stone Mountain Road, Unicoi passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late Luther and Lillian Stevens Wallace. Mrs. Bell was a founding member of the Limestone Cove First Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Bell in 1998; also four brothers and a sister. Survivors include two sons, Larry Bell and wife, Phyllis of Kingsport and Terry Bell and wife, Resie of Limestone Cove; two daughters, Patty Shaver of Limestone Cove and Penny Garland and husband, Michael of Unicoi; two sisters, Wilma Donner of Johnson City and Erma Burgess of Hampton; four sisters-in-law, Florence Potter, Hattie Bell, Goldie Wallace and Bertha Wallace; six grandchildren, Beverly Bell Sambat and husband, Brandon, April Teilhet and husband, Bill, Travis Garland and wife, Lisa, Emily Paul and husband, Brian, Courtney Bell and Christopher Smith and wife, Mary; eight precious great-grandchildren, Bailey, Braden, Alex, Krista, Destiny, Fisher, Elijah and Leah; Many nieces and nephews and friends, especially Bobby Sneyd and David Godsey. The Family would like to extend special thanks to her second home, Governor's Bend and all her special friends and those that helped in her care as well as NHC. A very special thanks to Dr. Frank Johnson. The funeral service for Mrs. Bell will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Estil Williams and Pastor Belinda Sturm officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Bell Cemetery, Unicoi. Pallbearers will be David, Jimmy and Steve Bell, Dave Godsey, Bobby Sneyd, Chris and Danny Burgess. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. For those who prefer in lieu of flowers you may make a contribution to the Limestone Cove First Methodist Church, 2375 TN-107, Unicoi, TN 37692.
