Stella M. Hilton Osborne, age 80, of 332 Roaring Creek Rd., Chucky, TN was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Wise, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Nat and Lula Ann Hilton. Mrs. Osborne was of the Freewill Baptist Faith, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Osborne loved chickens and roosters, and had a large collection of ceramic figurines of them. She loved to sit and play her guitar and sing with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Osborne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Osborne in 2002, a son Richard Carter; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Littrel and husband David, Fall Branch, TN, Alice Townsend and husband Dennis, Chucky, Brenda Shipley and husband Donald, Gray, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Carter and wife Artanda, Carters Valley, TN, Frank Osborne, and wife Kerran, Oak Ridge, TN; fourteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Osborne will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. David Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. in the East Parlor of Appalachian Funeral Home. The graveside service and interment will follow at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Townsend, Jr., Simon Townsend, Jonathan Orr, Andrew Dugger, and Danny Littrel. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.wadugger.com.
