Shirley Dimple Hill Hoss

Shirley “Dimple” Hill Hoss, 79, Johnson City, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at her residence.Shirley was born in Tiger Creek but was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Jesse James Hill and Florence Barnett Avad.Shirley was a graduate of Davy Crockett High School. She was of the Church of God Faith. Shirley was a caretaker at heart. Not only was that her profession, a CNA, but she always took care of everyone around her. She loved to garden, especially flowers, plants and vegetables. Most of all, Shirley loved her family, all of them.In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hoss, sisters, Jewel Huckaba and Wanda Babb.Survivors include her son, Chris M. Hoss; daughter, Missy Hoss Tipton and husband Glen Jr.; grandchildren, Kailand Borkowski and husband Dakota, Mandi Collier and husband Colby, Morgan Tipton; great-grandchildren, Luna Borkowski, Major Tipton, Asher Collier, Sutton Claire Collier, Malia McFarland; brother, Denver Hill; sisters, Lois Graham, Gwen Perry; several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Ave. Johnson City, TN 37601, with Pastor Dan Foster, officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be chosen from friends and family.The family will receive prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the Funeral Home.Read Obituary
