Shelby H. Greene, 81, 121 Webb Court, Jonesborough went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the James H. Quillen V. A. Community Living Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Howard and Edith Miller Greene. Mr. Greene was a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a building contractor and was a member of the Believers United Ministries Church of Jonesborough. Mr. Greene was an accomplished musician and loved to play his Martin Guitar in churches and other places. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Mays and a brother, Eddie Greene. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Greene of the home; two sons, Tim Greene and his wife, Debra of Unicoi and James Shelby Greene and his wife, Janice of Elizabethton; a step-son, Perry Qualls and his wife, Bailey of Johnson City; four brothers, Paul Greene and wife, Jean of Jonesborough, Garry Cardwell and wife, Linda of Clarksville, TN, Harvey Cardwell and wife, Pam and Donald Cardwell and wife, Carol all of Jonesborough; a sister-in-law, Shelby Greene of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Heather Groom, Shanna Boyd, Jessica Greene and Jennifer Greene; four great-grandchildren, Logan and Layla Groom, Ryan James Greene and Kinley Boyd; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mr. Greene will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Sheryl Merritt officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Marines assisted by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard Detail. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM. Pallbearers will be Harvey Cardwell, Tim, James, Allen, Michael and Garry Greene.
