Samuel Rockoff , 89, 1908 Loire Valley Road, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the Lakeview Health Care Center. He was a native of Chicago, Illinois and was a son of the late Elias and Becky Feingold Rockoff. Mr. Rockoff was a veteran having served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Spense, USS Edison and the USS Mc Caffey where he earned the Victory Medal during the Philippine Liberation and the Presidential Citation during the American and European Defense. Mr. Rockoff worked as a plant manager for Fritzi of Utah Corp. He was of the Jewish faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Annette Goldstein Rockoff; a daughter, Celeste Mushet and her husband, Bob of Jonesborough; three grandsons, Elliot Taub and his wife, Deanna of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, Gavin Martinson and his wife, Alyssa of Copell, Texas and Dillon Martinson and his wife, Amy of Vienna, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Zoe and Samantha Taub, Samuel, Lucy, Eli and Lily Martinson. Graveside services with Military Honors provided by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard Detail will be conducted at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM. For those attending you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM. There will be no formal visitation.
