Ruth Eileen Markwood, 95, of Telford went home to be the Lord, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. She was a native of Decatur, Illinois but had lived in Washington County most of her life. Mrs. Markwood was a daughter of the late Ralph and Katherine Lewis Lloyd. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel D. Markwood in 1964; a daughter, Linda Hulse; a son, David W. Markwood; two sisters, Letha Lloyd and Evelyn Wasson; four brothers, Eul, Lester, Wayne and Curtis Lloyd; a granddaughter, Janet Broyles and a son-in-law, Richard Edens. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ivey and husband, Frank and Judy Edens all of Telford; a daughter-in-law, Margie Markwood of Jonesborough; two sisters, Norma Hilyer of Greeneville and Sue Ferguson of Johnson City; two brothers, Dennis Lloyd and wife, Charlene of Hilton Head, SC and Harold Lloyd of Jonesborough; six grandchildren, Mark Ferguson, Danny Edens, Rick Edens, Shawn Markwood, Gayla Childress and Keith Hulse; eight great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Markwood will be conducted at 12:30 PM Thursday, April, 3 2014 in the Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesborough with Pastor Roy Yelton officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City Thursday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 then go in procession to the cemetery.
