Roy Glen Dye, 78, 1310 Greenfield Drive, Johnson City was called to his Heavenly home Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Lakebridge Health Care. He was a native of Piney Flats and had lived in Johnson City most of his life. Mr. Dye was a son of the late Jewell and Kate Cole Dye. He was retired from Rainbow Bakery and was a long time member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church where he had served in the sound room, tape and radio ministry. Mr. Dye was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Dorothy Wishon Dye of the home; two daughters, Sandra Dye Watts and Melissa Dye Saylor and husband, Michael all of Johnson City; a son, Jeffery Dye and his wife, Tina of Kentucky; a brother, Thurman Dye and his wife, Marie of Telford; four grandsons, Jonathan and Jamison Saylor, Phillip Hurd and Michael Dye; two granddaughters, Angel Lovin and Niki Musolino; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Dye will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Crowe, Rev. Byrl Fann and Mr. Danny Fair officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Washington County Memory Gardens.
