Ronald Lynn Hatley, 65, 133 Renee Drive, Johnson City passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of James William Hatley of Johnson City and the late Mary McNeil Hatley. Mr. Hatley was a retired truck driver and was a 1965 graduate of Happy Valley High School. He attended the Johnson City Baptist Temple. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Hatley. Survivors include his wife, Janice Davis Hatley; a daughter, Emily Sherfey and her husband, David of Jonesborough; two sons, Robert William Hatley and Jeremy Michael Hatley both of the home; five sisters, Sue Ellen Scott and husband, John, Hamilton, NC, Margie Fields, Greeneville, Debbie Fields, Becky Woods and husband, Sammy and Jamie Rhoten all of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Nathan and Landon Sherfey; an aunt, Mae Cox, Johnson City; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Hatley will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Wilkie Brookshire and Rev. Garry Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 226, 2013 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family will serve as pallbearers. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Visitation: Thursday April 25 2013 - 5:00 to 7:00 PM Services: Thurday April 25 2013 - 7:00 PM Interment: Friday April 26 2013 - 11:00 AM Monte Vista Memorial ParkN
