Robert Lynn Whaley, 58, 205 Allison Lane, Johnson City passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and was a son of Dora Higgins Whaley Flowers of Johnson City and the late William R. Whaley. Mr. Whaley was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Whaley enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Tori Eppley Whaley of the home; a daughter, Amy Whaley of Blountville; two sons, Robert Whaley Jr. and his wife, Lael of Texas and Jesse Whaley of Johnson City; two brothers, Michael Whaley of Michigan and Tim Whaley of Jonesborough; a sister, Deanna Bowlin of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Matthew Bell, Austin and Debra Whaley; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Whaley will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. James Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM.
