Robert (Bobby) Eugene Garland

Robert Eugene (Bobby) Garland, 79, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Bristol Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a son of the late Elmer and Ruby Britt Garland. Mr. Garland was a native of Johnson City and had lived in Ft. Blackmore, Virginia before joining the U.S. Army. After serving his country during the Korean War he moved to Unicoi County where he lived until returning to Johnson City. Mr. Garland retired from Thomas Industries and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy, Wayne and Jim Garland. Survivors include two brothers, Joe Garland and his wife, Ruth of Johnson City and Harold Garland and his wife, Vivian of Texas; a sister, Mary Ruth Smith and her husband, Hank of Johnson City; a special sister-in-law, Patsy Garland of Limestone; also several nieces and nephews. A military service will be held at a later date in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 108 W.
