Rickey Lee Dugger, 62, of Johnson City passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the residence of a son in Elizabethton. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Thomas and Mary Christine Dugger. Rickey was a self-employed painter and was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended Day of Deliverance Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Jackson; his godmother, Nanny Kate Beaton. Survivors includes his wife, Meredith Chapman Dugger; his children, Jonathan Dugger and his wife, Jennie of Elizabethton, Brandi Carter of Johnson City, Cheryl Willen of Johnson City, Christopher Willen and girlfriend, Alisha Crabtree of Jonesborough and Kathy Yarbrough of Johnson City; three sisters, Patricia Shepherd of Johnson City, Kathy Younce and husband, Joe of Elizabethton and Sandra McGlothlin of Virginia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Rickey will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Bill Younce and Rev. Dewey Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour and other times at the home of his son, John, 1502 Broad Street, Elizabethton. Graveside services will be held at 10:45 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Ray Davis officiating and Military Honors provided by the Carter County Honor Guard Detail. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:30 AM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
