Rickey "Ric" Boggs, 60, 605 Carter Sell Road, Johnson City passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Ric was a son of the late Henry and Madge Melton Boggs. He had worked in Finance for Citi-Group and Blazer Financial Services for many years. Ric was a member of New Life Tabernacle in Johnson City. He had sang and traveled with the New Vision Quartet for several years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Garry Boggs. Survivors include a brother, James "Jimmy" Boggs and his wife, Bettie of North Charleston, SC; two sisters-in-law, Janie Boggs and Shelby Broyles; six nieces and nephews, Ronna Hammitt, Amy Brown, Lori Russell, David, Christopher and Darrell Boggs. Funeral services for Mr. Boggs will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Maplelawn Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
