Richard Lee Vaughn Jr.,44,of 223 Browning Road, Telford passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of Deborah Jackson Vaughn of Johnson City and the late Richard Lee Vaughn Sr.. Mr. Vaughn was a self-employed stone mason. He attended the Jackson Park Church of the Brethren in Jonesborough and the Church of Jesus in Johnson City. Mr. Vaughn enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and especially spending time with his grandson. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harvey David Jackson and his paternal grandparents, William and Peggy Vaughn. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Samantha Nanmae Vaughn; two daughters, Amber Leigh Vaughn of Johnson City and Mackenzie Adrain Vaughn and Kris Crawford of Jonesborough; two sons, Christopher Vaughn of Chuckey and William "Bud" Vaughn of the home; a half-brother, Richard "Ricky" Vaughn of Jonesborough; a half-sister, Katie Bowman Cumbow and husband, Mike of Johnson City; his grandson, Kristopher Jordan "K.J." Crawford; his maternal grandmother, Frances Jackson of Johnson City; also several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Mr. Vaughn will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Jackson Park Church of the Brethren, 100 Oak Grove Avenue, Jonesborough with Pastor George Hall and Pastor Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
