Richard J. Estep, 81 of Johnson City passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a son of the late Rex Estep and June Hurley Estep Honeycutt. Mr. Estep retired from ETWNC and later as a truck driver. He attended Roan Street Church of God. Mr. Estep enjoyed working on cars, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gregg Estep; a sister, Kathleen Kennedy; three brothers, James, Leon and Gary Honeycutt; Survivors include his ex-wife, Barbara Estep of Erwin; a very special friend, Sonja Whaley of Johnson City; two sons, Rick Estep and his wife, Nancy of Blountville and Lance Estep and his wife, Erin of Greenville, Texas; two sisters, Magdalene Estep Salts, Daytona Beach, FL and Barbara Perez; two half-brothers, Lemmy and Joe Estep; a half-sister, Regina Orr all of Elizabethton; Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Estep. Memorial services for Mr. Estep will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the Roan Street Church of God, corner of Roan and E Street, Elizabethton with Pastor Ken Bewley officiating.
