Mrs. Rhonda C. Scott, 62, 101 Arbor Hills Drive, Piney Flats passed away at her residence Monday, April 3, 2012. She was a native of Detroit, Michigan and moved to Johnson City at an early age. Mrs. Scott had lived and worked in Lake City, Florida and Murfreesboro, TN before returning to Piney Flats in 2011. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Minnie Lowery Greene. Mrs. Scott was a registered nurse beginning her career in the Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Johnson City then worked for the Veterans Hospital until her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Verlin Scott; two daughters, Angela Renee Thomson and her husband, Scott of Grove City, PA and Melissa (Lisa) Cutlip and her husband, Ken of Johnson City; a brother, David Greene and his wife, Mary of Spruce Pine, NC; a granddaughter, Bethany Thomson; four grandsons, Kendle, Keynan, Koda and Kaden Cutlip; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Scott will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday. April 6, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Kenn Hecht officiating. Internment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM.
