Retta Willens

Mrs. Retta Willens, 91, 296 Bart Green Road, Gray passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Asbury Place of Johnson City. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late Dewey and Virgie Schaffer Sherfey. Mrs. Willens was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Willens in 2005; two sons; a brother, Jay Sherfey; three sisters, Patsy Price, Gladys Gillan and Lucille Clark. Survivors include a son, Jerry A. Willens of Gray; two brothers, Bill Sherfey and wife, Josephine of Johnson City and Wayne Sherfey of Gray; a sister-in-law, Frances Ramsey of Johnson City; special friends, Woody and Susie Medlin of Gray; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Willens will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the Chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Dugger and Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Snyder's Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Shane Willens, Blake Guy, Terry Wilson, Tom Willens, Ralph Willens and George Carver. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the service hour. The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of the Asbury Place of Johnson City for the care and compassion they provided to Mrs. Willens and the family.
