Rebekah "Becky" Owens Brown, 35, 115 Covered Bridge Way, Newport, TN passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 17, 2013 at her residence. She was a native of Johnson City but had spent most of her life in Elizabethton before moving to Newport in 2011. Becky was a daughter of Robert Henry Owens and Peggy Ann McDuffie of Bluff City. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Lois McDuffie. Survivors include four children, Kiersten Taylor McKinney, Jenna Renee Malone, Michael Alexander Brown and Sierra Nevaeh Lujan; a sister, Angela Robin Carr and husband, Jason of Unicoi; a brother, James Robert Owens and wife, Tammy of Bluff City; her fiancee, Duane Lujan and his son, Dakota of Newport; paternal grandmother, Dolly Owens; a special aunt and confidante, Mary Kay Pierce and husband, Timothy of Elizabethton; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two nephews, Trenten James Carr and Dalton Scott Carr; also a niece, Ashten Chloe Carr. A memorial service for Becky will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Alex Carver and Rev. Dallas Gregg officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
