Ralph (Pat) E. Diddle

Ralph (Pat) Diddle, 80, of Johnson City passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was the son of the late Delno Diddle and Fay Young Diddle Clark. Mr. Diddle was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Jonesborough. He had been employed for many years as a Market Researcher. Mr. Diddle was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa (Teri) Border and her husband, Nick; his step-father, Howard Clark. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Martha Crew Diddle; a son, Mark Diddle and his wife, Susan of Johnson City; two daughters, Tracy Smith and her husband, Rob of Telford and Marcia Lovejoy and her husband, Charles of Johnson City; eleven grandchildren, Landon and Rebecca Shipley, Jennifer Border, Micheal, David and Brian Smith, Brian and Allen Lovejoy, Kaitlyn, Megan and Breana Diddle; a great-grandson, Kaiden Murphy. Also several cousins. Graveside services for Mr. Diddle will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Robert English and Pastor Mark Harrod officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and the Connoisseurs Sunday School Class of Trinity Baptist Church. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery Thursday by 10:50 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 260 Headtown Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659 or to the Sequoyah Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 129 Boone Ridge Drive, Johnson City, TN 37615.
