Geneva Rachel Adkins

Geneva Rachel Adkins, 89, of Johnson City passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Four Oaks Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late William and Edith Jones Adkins. Ms. Adkins was a homemaker and had attended Grace Baptist Church in Johnson City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Cannon and Dorothy Fields. Survivors include a two nieces, Debbie Cox and her husband, Mickey of Johnson City and Chris Jones and husband, Steve of Jonesborough; also a great nephew, Travis Cox. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:15 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Mr. Steve Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM and then go in procession to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Four Oaks Nursing Home for the wonderful love and care they provided during her stay there.
