Mrs. Polly Houston Kelley, 89, of Lakebridge Health Care Center, Johnson City passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Martha Houston. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the Harbor Light Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Leetroy Kelley in 1996; two infant sons, Randy and Keith Kelley; a sister, Elsie Houston; three brothers, Frank, Allen and Jessie Houston, a great-granddaughter, Kylee Hill and a special dear friend, Lurah Haworth. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Haworth and husband, Roy of Bluff City; four sons, Kenneth Kelley and wife, Judy of Bradenton, FL, Tommy Kelley and wife, Evelyn of Johnson City, Larry Kelley and wife, Gayleen of Chuckey and Johnny Kelley and wife, Kim of Jonesborough; ten grandchildren, Lisa Myers, Russell, Kim, Kathy, Stacy and Allen Kelley, Michael and Eric Bolton, John Cagle and Leeah Parks; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Lena Johnson; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff and nurses of Lakebridge Health Care for the wonderful care and compassion they provided.
