Pleasey Sneyd, 94, 761 Lower Stone Mountain Road, Unicoi, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Sneyd was a lifelong resident of Limestone Cove in Unicoi County. Born Feb. 28, 1920, he was the son of the late Dave and Mary Sneyd. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in England, Belgium, France and Germany. Mr. Sneyd was retired from Empire Furniture Company of Johnson City. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, family gatherings and traveling to visit family members. Mr. Sneyd was a life-time member and deacon of Limestone Cove Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Bertha, in 2007. Mr. Sneyd was also preceded in death by brothers, Garfield, Jessie, Lawrence, Walter, Vernon, Javan and Arthur, and sisters, Minnie Coppack, Bessie Cornett and Gladys Sneyd Stout. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Amos William Stevens Jr. Mr. Sneyd was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, Ray Sneyd and wife, Trula; Peggy Stevens; Geraldine Love and husband, Gerald; and Lee Sneyd and wife, Linda. Mr. Sneyd is survived by grandchildren, Debbie Jones, Bryan Stevens, Donna White, Mark Stevens, David Cutler, Dennis Cutler, Linda Cutler, Amanda Sneyd and Joe Sneyd. He is survived by great-grandchildren, Raysha Harris, Karen Crutchley, LeighAnna Cutler and Jacob Cutler, Bryson Cutler and Evelyn Cutler and Josiah Sneyd. Mr. Sneyd is survived by two great-great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Karson Crutchley. Mr. Sneyd is also survived by three siblings, Myrtle Roberts, Caroline Stevens and Carl Sneyd, as well as many nephews, nieces and other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 18.Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Limestone Cove Christian Church followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Grandson Joe Sneyd will conduct the service. Great-granddaughter Karen Crutchley will sing. Graveside services will follow immediately afterward at the Sneyd Family Cemetery on Sneyd Lane off Lower Stone Mountain Road in Limestone Cove.
