Page Whitson

Page Whitson, 88, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Mitchell County, North Carolina and was a son of the late Oscar and Julie Byrd Whitson. Mr. Whitson was a retired carpenter shop supervisor at ETSU. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country during World War II. Mr. Whitson was a master carpenter and enjoyed rebuilding antique tractors and watching NFL football. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bowman Whitson in 2016; a brother, Wade Whitson; four sisters, Irene Whitson, Nora Roark, Thelma Whitson and Eula Whitson.Survivors include a daughter, Ann Whitson of Johnson City; a son, John P. Whitson and wife, Jeanette of Johnson City; a sister, Peggy Howell and husband, Dick of Alabama; five grandchildren, John Eric Whitson and wife, Kay, Jessica Bonnevie and husband, Ryan, Jeremy Whitson and wife, Andrea, Serena Blevins and Rachel Whitson; ten great-grandchildren, Alexis, Trevor and Anna Whitson, Taylor and Austin Bonnevie, Kailyn and Riley Whitson, Marie, Annabelle and Lili Rae Blevins; also several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Thursday, September, 6, 2018 at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Mr. John Eric Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends at Page’s home Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E.
