Ola Mae Shell, 82, Unicoi passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the Erwin Health Care Center. She was a native of Erwin and was a daughter of the late Oscar and Maude Day Miller. Mrs. Shell was a member of the Maranatha Tabernacle in Unicoi. She was a former employee of Knit World Fabric Shop and owner of Something Nice Draping and Fabric Shop. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Shell; two brothers, Harvey and Paul Thomas Miller; four sisters, Gertrude Vanover, Belle Franklin, Juanita Shell and Louise Pate. Survivors include three sisters, Verline Lewis, Hazel Tittle and Sara Shell; step-children, Randy Shell and Karen Walker; nieces, Loretta Ollis, Phyllis Shell, Tina Pate, Geraldine Shook and Kathy Richardson; nephews, Vernon and Leroy Vanover, Kenneth, Wayne and Tim Lewis; Howard Biggs, Ricky Miller, Rocky, Robert and Roger Allen, Larry Pate and Dr. Michael Tittle. Funeral services for Mrs. Shell will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor E.L. Wheeler officiating. The Duggers will provide the music. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Dr. Michael Tittle officiating and a song by Larry Pate. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Kenneth and Wayne Lewis, Steve Shell, Rocky and Robert Allen and Ricky Miller. Roger Allen will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
