Mildred M. Wilson, 90, 124 Fanning Street, Erwin, Tennessee passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Bell Garland Mathes. Mrs. Wilson had worked for Industrial Garments for 28 years. She was a charter member of the Maranatha Tabernacle Church in Unicoi. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Clyde Wilson in 2000; five brothers, Howard, Eugene, Ralph, Ray and Harold Mathes; also a half-brother, Terry Mathes. Survivors include two daughters, Patsy McCurry and Judy Taylor both of Johnson City; two sisters, Helen Hendrix and husband, Harold of Erwin and Ellen Delgado of Erwin; four grandchildren, Steve McCurry and wife, Sondra of Unicoi, Robin Summers and husband, John of Unicoi, Shannon McCurry of Johnson City and Corey Taylor of Unicoi; four great-grandchildren, Lauren McCurry, Katie Taylor, Skyler Grindstaff and Jordan Garreffa; special friends, Leroy Vanover, Nola Ramsey, Tony Garreffa, Jacob Wheeler, The Dugger family and Wheeler Family. Also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in the Evergreen Cemetery, Erwin, TN with Pastor E. L Wheeler officiating. Special music will be provided by Queenie, Jacob and Hannah Wheeler. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. Everyone attending is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:15 PM.
