Mildred Louise Keys

JOHNSON CITY- Mildred Louise Keys, 87, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Lakebridge Nursing Home. She was a native of Piney Flats and a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Molly Crowe Hawk.Mrs. Keys was a member of Clark Street Baptist Church and was retired from Texas Instruments.  She was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf, softball, and basketball.  She received the YMCA Woman of the month award at the age of 76 for playing basketball.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Niles Keys; sisters, Dorothy Cullop, Edith Thomas, Joanne Shina; brothers, George and Fleenor Hawk.She is survived by her brother, Chuck Hawk of Talbot, TN, niece, Marilyn Thomas Lowe of Powder Springs, GA, several in laws, nieces and nephews.A memorial service for Mrs. Keys will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the West Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 until 12 noon.
