Michael Anthony Lyons

Michael (Weasel) Anthony Lyons age 40 of Johnson City passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Mr. Lyons attended Happy Valley High School and was employed by Send the Light Distribution among other places. He was a wonderful fun loving person, and an all around great guy. He was a loving father, son, and brother. Anyone who met him loved him. Mr. Lyons loved to hunt and fish and attended Faith F.W.B church. . He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mack and Irene Greene Dawson; his paternal grandfather, Robert (Bob) Lyons and his maternal great-grandmother, Hassie Greene; paternal great-grandmother, Irene Whittemore; Survivors include, his parents, Steve and Judy (Dawson) Lyons; a son, Jacob Lyons and stepsons, Anthony Kerr and his wife Jordan and grandchild Isabella, and Donavan Kerr; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle (Lyons) Brewer and Robert Brewer, a nephew, Cole Brewer; ,his paternal grandmother, Deloris Scott; his former spouse and mother of Jacob, Trish Kinley. He also has several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Services for Michael will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Tom Lawson, Rev. Donnie Harris and Rev. Steve Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Other times at the home of his parents, 1010 Idlewylde Circle, Johnson City. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the Cherokee Community Independent Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Lyons, Anthony Kerr, Donovan Kerr, Daniel Presnell, Joe Barnett, Chris Davis, Thomas Roark and Ronnie Mays Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Brewer, Jason Brewer, Fred Brewer Jr., Jimmy Dawson, Jason Holder, Jonathan Holder and Jeff Holder. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
