Melissa Rhodes

Melissa "Pooh" Rhodes, 47, of Piney Flats passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 9, 2015 at her residence. She was a native of Johnson City and was a daughter of Judy Miller Green of Johnson City and the late Ernest M. Rhodes. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Rhodes and a sister, Nicky D. Cox. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Judy Miller Green and Norman Green of Johnson City; two sons, Corey and Brian Ragan of Johnson City; two uncles, Charlie Miller and wife, Susie and Teddy Miller; a half-brother, Matthew Rhodes; nephews, Jay Miller, Aaron and Chris Rhodes. Also the entire Rhodes family. Funeral services for Melissa will be conducted at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the East Parlor of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
