Mary Elizabeth Hedderson

Mary Elizabeth Hedderson, 93, 205 Dogwood Lane, Johnson City passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the Four Oaks Health Care in Jonesborough. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late Noah and Minnie Beard Walls. Mrs. Hedderson had worked for the Washington DC Rail services for many years. She was a member of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Hedderson enjoyed going to the mall and being with her friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert Hedderson; a son, Robert J. Hedderson; two brothers, Elbert and Bill Walls; a son-in-law, Paul Samuel McPeak. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley McPeak of Limestone; a granddaughter, Samantha McPeak of Limestone; a grandson, Sam McPeak and wife, April of Johnson City; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Macie and Sierra McPeak all of Johnson City. also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Hedderson will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Jason Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City from 11:30 to 12:30 PM then proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to John Kinsey, a neighbor that helped her, and Melanie Fagan, Four Oaks Health Care and the 5500 nursing staff of the Johnson City Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided.
