Mary Lou Gentry, 82, formerly of 1816 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was the daughter of the late Everett and Glenna Campbell Davis. Mrs. Gentry was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime employee of Leon-Ferenbach Corp. before retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray James Gentry in 2000; a sister, Louise and a granddaughter, Kelly Fields. Survivors include three daughters, Janice Busler, Pat Fields and Debbie Carver and her husband, Danny all of Johnson City; two sons, Danny Gentry and his wife, Charlotte of Jonesborough and Robin Gentry of Johnson City; a brother, Bobby Davis, Johnson City; sister-in-law, Imogene Gentry; a brother-in-law, Terry Gentry both of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Donny Gentry, Angela Bratton, Becky Smith, Chad Fields, Jason Collins and Amanda Carver; nine great-grandchildren; also survived by two nieces. A memorial service for Mrs. Gentry will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Chaplain Dwight MacPherson officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday form 5:00 PM until the service time at the funeral home.
