Marjorie J. Elliott, 193 Elliott and Scott Lane, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 15, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born January 10, 1932 to the late David and Nancy Hamilton Bailey. Mrs. Elliott was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church and had retired from Burlington Industries after 25 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Fitzgerald; a brother, Walker Hamilton; a brother-in-law, James Woodard and her step-father, Gentry Hamilton. She is survived by her loving husband, Earnest "Bud" Elliott of 61 years; seven daughters, Betty and Dean Carder, Donna and Darrell Cox all of Jonesborough, Martha and Danny Jones of Kingsport, Penny and Allen Kyker of Telford, Connie and Buddy Bennett, Lucilla Hensley and her fiance, Moi, Sherry and Ricky Williams all of Johnson City; three sons, Ernie and Terri Elliott of Jonesborough, Jimmy and Linda Elliott and Dwight and Kathy Elliott of Johnson City; a son-in-law, James Fitzgerald of Gray; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Sylvia Bowser and Martha Ferguson and a brother, R.C. Hamilton and his wife, Carolyn all of Gray; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Hamilton, Shirley Woodard, Geraldine Ray and Katherine Kilpatrick and her husband, John all of Johnson City; two brothers-in-law, Mike and Carl Elliott and sister-in-law, Shirley of Johnson City; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Elliott will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from the Greenwood Baptist Church, Greenwood Drive, Johnson City with Pastor Harold McNabb officiating. Internment will follow in the Elliott Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua K. Bennett, Paul Bailey, Carl Elliott, Sherrill Hodge, Larry Scott and Robert Fillers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Elliott, Jimmy Hodge, Johnny Woodard and Marlin "Bugs" Stoots. The family will receive friends at the church Monday, June 18, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
