Mamie Woodby Kimbrell, 88, 4074 Timberlake Road, Johnson City passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late Henderson and Margaret Hedrick Woodby. Mrs. Kimbrell was a member of the Free Will Baptist faith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Brown Kimbrell in 1988; a son, Mike Woodby; a brother, Nathan Woodby and three sisters, Viola Sneyd, Violet Campbell and Dorothy Kirk. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Street of Johnson City; a sister, Bessie Hill of Unicoi; a granddaughter, Linda Laughren and husband, Jerry of Johnson City; a grandson, Danny Street of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Jones and Jerrad Laughren; two great-great-grandchildren, Dakota and Makayla Jones; a special niece, Barbara Lyons; also several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Kimbrell will be conducted at 1:45 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:45 PM. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Robertson and staff of the 2200 unit of the Johnson City Medical Center for the excellent care they provided.
