Macie Ann Brogdon

Macie Ann Crain Brogdon, 88, 2506 Wynn Drive, Johnson City went to sleep in her Heavenly Father's arms on Sunday, February 23, 2014 and woke up rejoicing in her Heavenly Home. She was born May 22, 1925 in Flag Pond, TN to the late Bradley L. and Rinthey Coates Crain. Mrs. Brogdon was a charter member of Discover Life Church of Johnson City where she was a tireless prayer warrior. She served in several church organizations and was a member of the Explores Bible Study Classes for 17 years. Mrs. Brogdon will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and caring Christian woman of God. She touched the lives of many through her Christian witness in her daily life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, James C. Brogdon Sr.; four brothers, Charlie, Vance, Robert (Pete) and Herman Crain; four sisters, Ester Burton, Mary Cutshaw, Thelma Mashburn and Coleen Shankle. Macie leaves behind a son, James C. Brogdon Jr. and wife, Deborah Ammons Brogdon of Johnson City; two brothers, Wallace Crain and wife, Vel of Jonesborough and Lawrence (Bud) Crain and wife, Betty of Johnson City; a granddaughter, Jennifer Farmer and husband, Scott; a grandson, Andy Brogdon and wife, Dee of New York; step-granddaughters, Laura Bingham and Angela Savage and husband, Andy; great grandchildren, Cara White, Daniel Farmer, Alex White, Dylan Brogdon, Drew Brogdon, Cassidy Farmer, Bradley Farmer; step-great-grandchildren, Josh Woodby, Andy and Felicia Humphrey and Matthew Savage; step-great-great-grandchildren, Matt and Caleb Grasty; she is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Discover Life Church, 408 E. Mountain View Road, Johnson City, TN 37601 with Rev. Stan Bradley and Rev. Jon Fontanez officiating. Music will be provided by Tray Denton. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Other times at the home of the son, 2506 Wynn Drive, Johnson City. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park.
