Mr. Luther “Chink” Curtis, 83, Johnson City passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the Signature Health Care Center of Elizabethton. He was a native of Knoxville and was a son of the late Charles and Trula Mae Ramsey Curtis. Mr. Curtis spent many years in restaurant management in the East Tennessee area. He was a member of Boones Creek United Methodist Church where he had served as Deacon. Mr. Curtis enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Tennessee football fan and he loved his small dogs, Susie Jane (at least 3 named the same). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Miller; a grandson, Michael Keen; three sisters, Evelyn Hurst, Charlotte Hollis and Lois Jones.He is survived by his loving wife, Reva Vance Curtis; a son, Luther Curtis Jr. and wife, Susan; a sister, Kathy Lentz and husband, Don; grandchildren, Christopher, Bradley, Geoff, Matthew and Cambria; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Lula Gray and husband, Gale.A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Curtis will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2019 in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Chaplain Doug Hinshaw officiating.The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of Signature Health Care of Elizabethton for the wonderful care they provided.Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
