Louise D. Tolley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Louise D. Tolley, 76, 1105 Johnson Avenue, Johnson City went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the residence of a daughter Wednesday, November 13, 2013. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Horace and Dance Lunsford Copas. Mrs. Tolley was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel Tolley; three brothers, Chris Brown, Jerry Copas and Horace Copas Jr.' a sister, Shirley Elliott; a sons-in-law, Billy Jack Grindstaff and Keith Sanders. She is survived by five daughters, Debbie Grindstaff, Stephanie Tolley, Delaine Sanders, Sandy Kinley and Diana Fagans all of Johnson City; four brothers, George Copas and wife, Sherry, Billy Joe Copas and wife, Shirley all of Johnson City, David Copas and wife, Barbara of Piney Flats and Leroy Brown of Johnson City; a sister, Susie Nickles of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Samantha Grindstaff, Matthew Grindstaff, April Lyons, Pete Sanders, Scotty Sanders, Christopher Pickering and Ronnie Williams; eleven great-grandchildren; her ex-husband and father of her children, Sam Tolley of Johnson City; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services for Mrs. Tolley will be conducted at 2:30 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Fairview Cemetery, Highway 81, Jonesborough with Mr. Joe Copas officiating. Special music will be provided by Pete Sanders and Amy Moser. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks the Amedisys Hospice especially her nurses, Cindy Canter and Teresa Sams; also her sitter, Chelsea Bryant. And a faithful granddaughter, April Lyons also her special companion and caretaker, granddaughter, Samantha Grindstaff.
