Louise Andrews Jenkins Crowder passed away peacefully May 5, 2016 in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Louise Crowder was born April 10, 1921, in Bethel, NC. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at the Library of Congress while her husband served overseas. Living most of her life in East Tennessee, she also resided in Virginia and in New Jersey where she volunteered with the Cooper Foundation of Charities Cooper Medical Center. She was a past president of the Rogersville Newcomers Club and a member of the Johnson City Monday Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City and later a member of Munsey Memorial Methodist Church. She had a passion for cooking and gardening. She loved to have fresh flowers throughout her home. She will be remembered for her steady strong will, her deep love for her family and the many good times spent together with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Losee Linwood Andrews Sr. and Daisy James Andrews, she was preceded in death by husband Willis Herman Jenkins Sr. and her late husband Giles Crowder. Also preceding her in death were siblings, L.L. Andrews, Christine Sullivan, Prudence A. Goetz, Frances Chewning, Daisy Lee Carson and Mary Jane Bedenbaugh. Surviving are three children, Beverly Jenkins White (Mike), Hermitage, TN, Willis Herman (Jenks) Jenkins Jr. (Beverly), Jonesborough, TN and Julie Jenkins Kern (Jim), Salem, VA. Six grandchildren, Alison White Dobbs (Chris), Mt Juliet, TN, Tara White Stone (Richard), Murfreesboro, TN, Breelyn Jenkins Bomba (Alex), Jonesborough, Zachary Jenkins, Jonesborough, Lauren Dupree File and Alexander File, Roanoke, VA. Four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Brady Stone, Lily and Grant Dobbs. The family held a private graveside service May 9, 2016 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Allen Huff officiated. The family gives a special thanks to the CNA's and staff at Four Oaks Nursing Home for their loving care. Also a special thank you to the nurses of Caris Hospice Healthcare Services.
