Louis E. Wilson Sr., 69, 309 Colorado Street, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Baltimore, Maryland but had lived in Johnson City most of his life. Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Pat and Gladys Luster Wilson. He was a longtime member of the Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was retired from the City of Johnson City. He loved listening to and singing gospel music and enjoyed going out with his friends to eat. Louis will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Burton Wilson in 1999. Survivors include two sons, Louis (Eddie) Wilson Jr. and his wife, April of Johnson City and Brian Patrick Wilson, Johnson City; six grandchildren, Cody Pat Wilson, Brian Patrick Wilson Jr., Keeva Ann Wilson, Kayla Leann Wilson, Brittany Michelle Lecole Wilson and Joshua Matthew Wilson; sisters and brothers in-law, Betty Sue Stalcup and husband, John and Patsy Garland and husband, Carl all of Johnson City; Louis was also excited about his first great-grandchild, Leah Dulaney expected in January. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Wilson will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2012 in the Keystone Freewill Baptist Church, Bettie Street, Johnson City with the Rev. Terry Jones, Rev. Bill Greer and Rev. Tony Birchfield officiating. Special music will be provided by the church trio and Kathy Fagan. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Walt Ledford, John Stalcup, Bobby Fulwiler, Ray Ford, Richard Burgner and Alvin Zeoli. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Workman, Ron Street, Gene Deloach and David Carter. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses on the 5200 unit of the Johnson City Medical Center and also to the Amedisys Hospice Group.
