Lonnie C. Townsend

Lonnie C. Townsend, 74, passed away April, 18, 2012 in Carter County. He was a native of Unicoi County and had lived in Johnson City for many years. Mr. Townsend was a son of the late Waits and Nola Teague Townsend. He was a self-employed builder and attended Wayside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Townsend in 2008; five brothers, Fred, Homer, Don, Ray and Bill Townsend; a sister, Eva Little. Survivors include two sons, Terry Townsend of Florida and Mike Townsend of Kentucky; two daughters, Nola Peterson and her husband, Jeff of Erwin and Darlene Byrd and her husband, Bob of Hickory, NC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Townsend will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, July 9, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Maupin and Rev. Jack Dykes officiating. Internment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1:00 until service time. Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 108 W.
