Tuesday, July 9, 2019, as Heaven received a kind and loving soul, we said a temporary goodbye to our beloved sister, Linda Sue Estep, born July 13, 1959. Linda fought a hard and courageous battle against cancer and never once ask “why me?” instead ask “why not me?”. She acknowledged she was blessed in life and passed blessings on to others. Linda was a licensed Orthotist and Prosthetist, where her true spirit showed in the compassion of her patients in Chicago, Tucson, New York, Birmingham and Chattanooga before retiring. When she reentered the workforce, she worked for the Department of Homeland Security and then the United States Postal Service. Linda was a faithful Christian and a member of Tri-Cities Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles William “Bill” Estep and Lois Estelle Carden Estep. To carry on her memory are her sisters, Robin Lowe (Carroll) of Elizabethton, Dawn Raynor of Johnson City and Billie Clark (Jimmy) of Johnson City; her brother, Nathan Estep of Spartanburg, SC; nieces, Nerissa Lowe, Crystal Clark, Olivia Higgins (Brady) and nephew, Brandon Estep; great-nephews, Jayden Lowe, Caleb Turner and Joseph and Wyatt Higgins. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Ave, Johnson City. Graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM.The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Wellmont Cancer Center. Dr. Jamal Maatouk, and NP Myra Blankenship were more than medical staff, they were true and caring family. We are comforted by their love and compassion as they walked with, prayed for and sometimes carried Linda on her tiresome journey.Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
