Lenora Sue Fortney, 82, formerly of 267 E. Main Street, Jonesborough passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin. She was a native of Mooresville, W. VA and had moved to Jonesborough in 1973. Mrs. Fortney was a daughter of the late Peter and Lessie Okel McCoy Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Fortney in 2003; a sister, Ruby Rice; eight brothers, Peter Ross Moore Jr., Don, Jim, William, Bob, Lyle, Raymond and Jackie Moore. Survivors include two sons, Archie Fortney of Johnson City and Mark D. Campbell of Knoxville; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Beach and husband, Keith Miniard of Evansville, IN and Susan Kay Campbell of Jonesborough; a brother, John Moore of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Betty Robinson of Grafton, W.VA and Ann McMillan of Alliance, Ohio; seven grandchildren including granddaughter Dawn Smith and husband, Michael of Erwin; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Fortney will be conducted at 11:30 AM Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery.
