Lannie E. "Eddie" Langford, Jonesborough went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 12, 2012 after a brief illness. Eddie was a native of Carter County and graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1964. He was a son of the late Willie (Nanny) Stonecipher Davison and step-son of the late Charles Davison and son of the late Lannie Langford. After serving two tours in Vietnam, he was stationed in California where he met the love of his life, Sharon. They married and he raised her three sons as his own. They were also blessed with a daughter. Eddie drove a tractor and trailer for years and then went in business for himself as a mechanic. After 35 years he retired and moved his family to Jonesborough, where he bought an historical home with acreage and a pond. He loved living in the country and enjoyed working at his home. He could repair anything and insisted on being the family mechanic for his extended family. Eddie didn't want family members to spend money for repairs on anything that he could fix, and that covered appliances. He learned to recycle useful things and when he fixed something, you could depend on it. Eddie was a loving husband, dad and granddad. He was always involved in his grandchildren's activities and delighted in Justin's and Jessica's accomplishments. Not enough can be said about the person he was, a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. People loved being around him, because of his fun loving ways. He will be missed by all. Eddie loved his country and was proud to have served as a Marine. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Boyd Langford; a daughter, Denice Langford Dubin and her husband, Dave of Gray; three sons, Rob Saenz and Donnie Saenz both of Jonesborough and Pat Saenz and his wife, Amy of Newnan, GA; two grandchildren, Justin and Jessica Dubin; a brother, Larry Langford and his wife, Angela of Hilham, TN ; three sisters, Pat Taylor and her husband, Jerry, Helen Harris and her husband, Arthur all of Johnson City and Beth Busler and her husband, Bobby of Nashville; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Case officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 PM until the service time.
