L. Victor James, 69, 2261 Buckingham Road, Greeneville passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center. He was a native of Shelby, NC and had lived and worked in Georgia, Florida, Virginia and North Carolina before moving to Greeneville in 1989. Mr. James was a son of the late Clyde and Elizabeth Turner James. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and had attended John Marshall Law School in Georgia. Mr. James worked his entire career in Business Management. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in South Carolina. Mr. James was a Vietnam veteran having served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. The greatest thing he excelled in was being a husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale James. Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Massey James; two sons, Christopher James and his wife, Jennifer of Fall Branch and Chad Inscore and his wife, Staci of Greeneville; a sister, Brenda Bundy and husband, George of Lincolnton, NC; two brothers, Steve James of Florence, SC and Jessie Lee James of Forest City, NC; three grandchildren, Ethan Inscore, Beth James and Brooklyn James; several nieces and nephews. Also special friends, Nina Leatherwood, Jamie Wisenburg and Richard and Jackie Kirkland. Graveside services for Mr. James will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Mr. Richard Kirkland officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard Detail. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:20 AM. A time for fellowship with family and friends will be held at Unicoi Christian Church fellowship hall following the graveside service. The family would like to give special thanks to all of the Doctors and staff of the CLC-1 of James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center, especially, Dr. Goldstein, Dr. Angela May and Cresselda his special med nurse for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Unicoi Christian Church, 417 Tennessee Street, Unicoi, TN 37692 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
